The Vaquero Ranch, Spanish for “Cowboy” was originally built in the late 1980’s out of 12” x 8’ chiseled heartwood and hemlock log walls, coupled with Arkansas field stone. The ranch is located in South Brazos County, Texas, overlooking the Brazos River Valley, just one hour and ten minutes from downtown Houston. After major refurbishment in 2003, Vaquero Ranch was selected to be in the TROPHY ROOMS AROUND THE WORLD – VOLUME 9 PUBLICATION.
The ranch is split into two pastures. The south pasture operations, as it is referred to, and the scientific breeding facilities. Each pasture operation is high fenced with the south pasture having over 2.5 miles of Brazos River frontage. The total acreage exceeds 650 acres.
